  1. GREEN AUDIT

During the past academic year the institution adopted extensive feedback mechanism . The appraisal committee under the guidance of IQAC planned and designed evaluation formats which included the Evaluation at the commencement of the programme and Pluralistic feedback mechanism for assessing the attainment of goals during teaching practice.

  1. ECO FRIENDLY PROJECTS

  2. Promoting an eco friendly culture in the campus.

In order to promote Research Culture in the campus ,the institution motivated its faculty to take up research in education by providing library, internet facility and also availing leave for attending seminars, workshops, present papers and publish articles and research studies in National and International Journals and Publications. It promotes the interaction with experts and Research Guides there by updating the faculty.

  2. DISSCUSION FORUMS :

Facilitates discussion forums between the experts and students. Regular discussions were conducted between the experts teachers and students on Academic and Co-curricular activities.

  1. CAMPUS ACTIVITIES:

Conduct Awareness Programes, inter collegiate programmes, seminars, exhibition, workshops etc. The past academic year witnessed a host of activities including UGC sponsored National Seminar for teachers, M.G.University sponsored State level seminar for non-teaching staff, AIACHE sponsored Inter Collegiate Seminar and poster competition for students. An inter collegiate paper presentation contest for M.Ed. students was also conducted.

 

  1. TRAINING PROGRAMMES
    Enhance life skills and effective transaction of Curriculum by organizing Seminars, Exposure Programmes, Talks, Awareness Classes .

  2. ENVIRONMENAL STUDIES

The institution established close rapport with the students and facilitated free exchange of ideas. A mentoring system was adopted in which every teacher was entrusted 15 students. The teacher acted as a mentor who provided appropriate academic professional advice and guidance. At an ad hoc basis a trained counsellor was appointed to render counselling services. The faculty also conducted periodic counselling and understood and resolved the problems of the students.

Physical Education and Health Education Classes, Workshop on First Aid etc. helped them to develop physically balanced personality. All these contributed to form outstanding individuals, who are well equipped to compete, with the challenges ahead.

 

The institution provided facilities to enhance communication skills and effective transaction of Curriculum through the following activities.

d) Seminar on First Aid

Take initiative to develop energy preservation as best practice in the delivery of instruction.

The institution has an eco friendly waste disposal system. We conduct awareness programmes for this purpose.

We workwith ‘suchithwa bharatha’ mission.

13.MEDICINAL GARDEN

A medicinal garden is erected

  1. CAMPAIGNS

In order to foster social commitment various clubs functioned actively like Peace Club, Social Service Club, Nature Club, Quiz club, Anti-adat Club, Youth Red Cross Society, and Women Cell. To concentize the student teachers on various social issues programmes like survey, exhibitions, debates and competitions on various themes related to current social problems were conducted. The students visited rehabilitation centres, govt. hospitals, and donated food, cloths etc. to the needy.

15.OBSERVATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL DAY

To inculcate patriotism and to teach Constitutional Values Celebration of days of National importance, Seminars and talks on the philosophy of Nation, CD display through regular curricular transactions were organized. Through observance of National Festivals, respect for the rich Indian Culture and Religion is developed.

9.ECO SPIRITUALITY

Materials The faculty developed power points on the instructional materials. They prepared CD’s on microteaching and innovative lessons .Faculty inspired students to make teaching aids like slides, transparencies and power point presentations. Internet facilities were availed by faculty and students for instruction and learning respectively.

The institution empowers the students with the latest trends in education and make all e-literate. It provided opportunities to interact with Eminent educationist from National and International levels. Besides the intellectual pursuits they are trained to have a respect for individual dignity, love for nature, find fruitful solutions to the existing environmental issues and thereby form a consistent scale of values.

The institution helps the student teachers to impart real knowledge and wisdom to all those whom they acquaint with. They are trained to understand each child they meet so as to see in everyone a precious souls . They are also trained to develop a habit of experiencing God in all events of their life so as to lead a life deep rooted in faith.

10.INNOVATIONS IN CURRICULAR DESIGN AND TRANSACTION IN FAVOUR OF ENVIRONMENT

faculty organize and attend several seminars and workshops and chalked out plans for the proper transaction of the Curriculum in more eco friendly way. Learner centered approach and activity oriented teaching and learning methods for Eco friendly and sustainable development app were introduced.

11.Inter disciplinary programmes.

Students are trained to imbibe values. An awareness on the various social, moral and environmental issues are given through their subjects, who in turn apply the principle of correlation. Inclusive education, legal awareness classes, courses on multi skill development etc. were provided.

12. Faculty Development programmes

Our Faculty is a learning community and to keep the faculty abreast with the latest developments,they acquaint themselves with the latest trends in methodology by attending Workshops, Seminars at National and International levels. They presented papers and published Research articles in Journals with International repute. Workshops on SPSS, Flash are some of the remarkable strides under taken by the institution. A proposal for a workshop on 21st Century Skills of Teacher Educators was submitted to UGC for financial assistance .One of the faculty members Rosamma T. was awarded Ph.D and 2 more registered for Ph.D.
