The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting of St. Joseph College of Teacher Education for Women, Ernakulam, held on 31st November 2024, featured a highly insightful seminar for parents on “The Role of Parents in Emotional Development.” The event took place in the college’s multipurpose hall and was presided over by Dr. Alice Joseph, Principal, with coordination by Dr. Bindu Joseph, the PTA convenor.
The seminar was conducted by Mr. Fabin Stanley, a renowned psychologist, who provided valuable insights into the critical role parents play in fostering the emotional well-being of their children. Mr. Stanley emphasized the importance of creating a nurturing and supportive environment at home to help children develop resilience, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
The interactive session covered key topics such as effective communication, managing stress in children, and guiding them through emotional challenges. Parents actively participated in the discussion, sharing their concerns and gaining practical strategies to strengthen their role in their children’s emotional development.
Following the seminar, the General Body Meeting and Executive Committee Meeting were held, during which the newly elected members of the PTA Executive Committee were introduced. The session concluded with an appreciation for the active involvement of parents and teachers, making the event a meaningful and enriching experience.
The seminar was widely appreciated, leaving parents equipped with deeper awareness and tools to support their children’s emotional growth effectively.
