The Women Cell of St Joseph College of Teacher Education for Women, Ernakulam focuses on promoting gender equality, women’s empowerment, and creating a safe and inclusive environment for women students and staff. The main goal of a Women’s Cell is to address gender-related issues, provide support to women, and raise awareness about gender rights and issues. Activities include campaigns for raising awareness organizing seminars and workshops on themes connected to women’s rights, gender equality, and other relevant topics; giving female students and employees a forum for discussion and advice on matters relating to harassment, discrimination, and other gender-related issues, conducting training sessions on leadership, career development, self-defence, and personal empowerment, Information is provided regarding women’s legal rights, relevant channels for redress, and available resources for support, establishing initiatives to educate the university community as a whole about gender stereotypes, biases, and the value of respectable conduct, establishing private reporting channels for harassment and discrimination, ensuring prompt and appropriate action is taken, honouring and recognizing the accomplishments of women in a variety of fields to encourage and motivate others, empowering women by providing career counselling.
